A Discovery Parks cabin in Airlie Beach

We rented a small cabin at Discovery Parks. Beautiful spot and friendly staff.

We’ve been staying at and driving around Airlie Beach for a few days. Tomorrow, we're leaving the car at the harbour while we ferry over to Hamilton Island for Christmas.

Charging

The Tesla's charge is down to 38%, after a few days driving around. The reception staff said we could plug in the car at our cabin, but there's no easy power point there, so they said we could temporarily plug in to one of the vacant 15A powered sites. We just plugged in while we weren’t using the car. Easy ☺️.

  1. Are most places welcoming when asking for power to charge up? Or are they sorta eye rolling?

Looks like a great trip so far, I'll be doing similar when mine arrives 👌

    1. They’ve all been welcoming so far. Some were a little puzzled, but happy to offer whatever connection they had, if they had one. A few places just didn’t have an easily available power point, so we didn’t bother.

  3. Well done... earlier this year a caravan park in Sydney wanted to charge me an extra $30 for a vacant spot near the cabin id paid a reasonable amount already for. I popped over to the local shopping centre for a free charge instead.
